Ear plugs and eye mask.
What's the first thing you did when you arrived in Japan for the World Ballet Festival?
Took a deep breath; attended a briefing on the weeks to come at the festival; and became excited and nervous and glad my mum was with me!
What do you like most about Japanese audiences?
They’re ballet fanatics who show their love of ballet and enthusiasm through signatures, photos, gifts and long, thunderous applause.
What's your favourite ballet?
Many titles depict different times in my life. A special period was creating Aurora in Stanton Welch's The Sleeping Beauty in 2005.
What career might have you pursued if you didn't dance?
My ambition was originally to be in musicals.
