FOR A LONG TIME THE TUTU, THE STANDARD COSTUME FOR A FEMALE DANCER, HAD NO NAME. LEGEND HAS IT THAT DANCERS CHRISTENED IT THE TUTU USING A KIND OF BABY TALK WHICH IN FRENCH MEANS ‘BABY’S BOTTOM’!
