WHEN THE AUSTRALIAN BALLET WAS FIRST FORMED IN 1962 IT BOASTED A ‘LARGE’ COMPANY OF 48 DANCERS. IT NOW EMPLOYS 68 DANCERS, EACH ON 12-MONTH CONTRACTS.

Giselle
is one of the most loved of all classical ballets.
Maina Gielgud’s version is extraordinarily beautiful and a favourite with audiences. The story tells of a simple peasant girl Giselle who falls in love with Albrecht, a prince in disguise. When the deception is revealed, it leads to madness and then the grave. Read more about Giselle

Our 2008 season includes a school holiday midweek matinee with a special groups price for students 17 years and under. Groups of 10 students can see Giselle accompanied by The Queensland Orchestra for 10% off the regular student price! And, we’ll supply one free ticket for a supervising adult.
