FUN FACTS
TATIANA ZIMINA AND NIKITA DOLGUSHIN BECAME THE FIRST SOVIET DANCERS TO PERFORM IN AUSTRALIA WHEN THEY MADE THEIR DEBUT WITH THE AUSTRALIAN BALLET IN 1962.

Art of the ballerina

Ever since they raised themselves onto the tips of their toes, ballerinas have been considered more than mere mortals – they are the “goddesses of dance”. In this special programme, the ballerinas of The Australian Ballet will introduce you to some of the magical works that have enchanted audiences since the early nineteenth century. With a selection of excerpts from our 2008 repertoire, this will be an hour of unforgettable dance.
