Out There - The Australian Ballet in schools brought to you by Samsung
Motivated by the knowledge that kinetic and expressive learning is central to a child’s positive development, in 2006 The Australian Ballet launched one of its most important initiatives:
Out There - The Australian Ballet in schools.
The core aim: to give young Australians the opportunity to participate and value dance as a form of artistic expression, recreational activity and entertainment.
Based on solid research and program design, this in-schools program was developed and devised by one of Australia’s leading dance educators, Helen Cameron. Importantly, this innovative program of kinetic workshops, demonstrations and discussion forums complements the core values of the overall school curriculum.
In 2014, we are delighted to welcome Samsung Electronics as the Presenting Partner of Out There.

The Out There program has travelled far and wide across Australia
Since its inception in 2006 the Dance Education Ensemble has visited 243 locations across five states and one territory. Check to see if we’ve visited your area; we would love to expand our horizons even further!
Out There reached nearly 15,000 students in 2013
In 2013, the Dance Education Ensemble delivered 26,928 hours of dance activity which included kinetic workshops, dance demonstrations and discussion forums with students and teachers.
With assistance from a seeding Victorian Government grant, generous sponsors, philanthropic individuals and organisations, the program has grown exponentially since 2006.
