Ballet is a fascinating art form that’s both exciting to do, and to watch. The Australian Ballet also has a range of Education events  that aim to bring dance to everybody. From our open classes to our informative talks and special days, learning more about dance and participating in dance-based activities can help us more fully understand our bodies, building confidence and enhancing coordination, while our talks, forums and special days give greater insights into The Australian Ballet’s performances and behind-the-scenes activities.

Fun facts

When The Australian Ballet was first formed in 1962 it boasted a 'large' company of 48 dancers. It now employs around 68 dancers, each on twelve-month contracts.
