The Australian Ballet is continuing its commitment to nurturing the next generation of young talent, and are pleased to announce applications are now open for the 2010 NAB Dance the Dream program. After a successful national launch in 2009, this special initiative ensures geographical location is no barrier when it comes to meeting the leaders of Australian ballet.
For ten lucky dance schools across the country, their dreams of being taught by one of Australia’s most well-respected ballerinas could be one step closer to reality. All dance schools nationally are eligible to apply to host one of these coveted workshops, which will include a master class from former Principal Artist with The Australian Ballet, Lynette Wills.
Lynette retired from a life of professional dance in June 2009 after a distinguished career of almost 19 years and now teaches with The Australian Ballet School. Her tutelage and advice would be an invaluable experience to any aspiring young dancer. The workshops will be followed by a Q&A session that the entire school and community can attend. NAB will also provide the next best ten applications with a ballet barre valued at over $580.
Applications close on 31 July and can be submitted by students, teachers and parents at www.nab.com.au/ballet
