Kismet Bourne

Kismet Bourne grew up in Toowoomba, Queensland. She moved to Melbourne in 1999 to attend The Australian Ballet School, where she garnered numerous awards and scholarships. In 2002 Kismet joined the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, a brand-new company in Moncton, New Brunswick. There, in her first year as an Australian Ballet School graduate, she performed the principal role of Suzanne, which was created on her for the ballet Figaro. 2003 saw Kismet join Royal New Zealand Ballet where she performed numerous soloist roles. She joined The Australian Ballet in 2004.

You may not know ...

Kismet commenced The Australian Ballet School’s Vocational Graduate Certificate in Elite Ballet Instruction on a part-time basis in 2007. She also teaches for the Australian Ballet’s Education Programme.
