Kristy Corea

Kristy Corea grew up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Inspired by her older cousins, she started dancing at the age of six. Kristy began her training at the Vivienne Academy of Ballet and the Jane Moore Academy of Ballet. In 2006 she joined The Australian Ballet School where she enjoyed immediate success. That year Kristy won the Award in Excellence and in 2007 she won the Graeme Murphy Contemporary Award for Excellence. In 2008 she was a finalist at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, taking home the consolation prize. In 2009 Kristy joined The Australian Ballet where the accolades continued. She is the first ever recipient of the Paulette Carlson Scholarship, which will finance her first year as a member of the Corps de Ballet.
