Out There - in Schools
What is Out There - in schools?
The programme was designed to complement the core values of the overall curriculum. It gives Primary students an awareness of dance in a positive, exciting and participatory way, encouraging the participants to be alert, fit and imaginative – stimulating expressive exploration in dance.
“They (the students) realised the links dance has with so many other aspects of learning – fitness and health, Maths, Music, memory and teamwork, to name a few....While I endeavoured to pass on my love of dance, music and drama to the students of this school, your ensemble did in one day what I had been trying to do for the last 7 years. Who delivers Out There?
The programme is delivered by members of The Australian Ballets Dance Education Ensemble– all are dance graduates who are given additional professional development in teaching and communicating with young people in a schools’ context. The presenters deliver a range of activities including classroom learning, kinetic and dance workshops, discussions and demonstrations, and a student-friendly programme evaluation exercise.

The Australian Ballet offers three different Packages which you can choose from.
The Packages for Primary students include Movement Workshops and Dance Demonstrations and Discussion forums, all delivered by the Dance Education Ensemble. These interactive presentations connect with, and inspire the students, as they participate, observe and interact with the Dance Presenters and each other.
