Vivienne Wong in Warumuk - in the dark night
The Australian Ballet is nominated for seven 2012 Green Room Awards, revealed in a list of nominees published by the Green Room Awards Association on 19 February 2013. Triple bill of contemporary Australian works Infinity proves popular, with nominations across multiple categories.
Soloist Vivienne Wong is nominated for the Female Dancer award for her performance in Warumuk – in the dark night in the Infinity triple bill. Principal Artist Andrew Killian is nominated for the Male Dancer award for his year’s work. Guest dancer James O’Hara is also nominated for the Male Dancer award for his performance in There’s Definitely a Prince Involved (Infinity).
Brett Dean is nominated in the Sound and Music category for The Narrative of Nothing; and the company also garners a Concept and Realisation nomination for There’s Definitely a Prince Involved.
In the Design category, Damien Cooper is nominated for his lighting for The Narrative of Nothing; and Lighting and Set Designer Benjamin Cisterne has been nominated for his year’s work including Sweedeedee in the Let’s Dance program.
This year’s awards ceremony will be held on Monday 6 May at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne. A full list of nominees can be found on the Green Room Awards Association website.
