One of the world's most popular ballets, especially suitable for children, this production was created for The Australian Ballet in 1979 by then Artistic Director Peggy van Praagh in collaboration with noted film and theatre director George Ogilvie. This recording is of a 1990 performance. Colin Peasley is remarkable as Dr Coppelius, with Lisa Pavane as Swanilda.
