Let's Dance

Australia’s leading lights in one spectacular event

In June, leading dancers and companies from around Australia will gather in Melbourne and take to the stage. Let’s Dance features world premieres and key classics from Sydney Dance Company, Australian Dance Theatre, West Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Dancenorth and Expressions Dance Company, with a special AV presentation by Tasdance. Together with The Australian Ballet, they will create a vivid picture of the strength and diversity of our nation’s dance culture.

The Australian Ballet joins the party in a brand new work by Tim Harbour. Harbour’s emotional Halcyon, part of 2010’s Edge of night program, established him as a rising star in a fresh generation of choreographers. His new piece Sweedeedee celebrates the extraordinary dancers of our world-class ballet company. Featuring father and daughter Steven and Mia Heathcote, alongside Justine Summers, the work is ablaze with home-grown talent and showcases past legends, present stars and future leading lights of The Australian Ballet.

In the bushlands and backyards of Australia, dance is flourishing. Join us in June for Australia’s finest celebration yet.
