Once upon a time

Story ballets are a wonderful introduction to the art form for children. This engaging 50-minute performance will feature fully staged excerpts from our new production of Swan Lake, the most loved of story ballets.

As Prince Siegfried, Brisbane-born Principal Artist Daniel Gaudiello will both dance and narrate the story, telling of his birthday celebrations and how he met the swan princess.

The famous swan scenes will be danced by artists of The Australian Ballet and Tchaikovsky's evocative score will be performed by The Australian Ballet's Principal Pianist Stuart Macklin.

Once upon a time has been specially designed for families with children from age 4 and primary school groups, who will delight in the beautiful costumes, stirring music and wonderful dancing.
