Out There - in schools

Kinetic learning is central to a child’s positive development but there is evidence to support that dance is one of the least taught subjects in schools. Out There – The Australian Ballet in schools is an exemplary incursion program which provides an enriching dance experience for students.

This innovative dance-movement program offers a range of activities including preparatory classroom learning, kinetic and dance workshops, performance discussions and demonstrations. The program was devised to complement the core values of the overall curriculum.

Since its inception in 2006, over 30,000 lower, middle and upper primary students have experienced Out There. The male and female presenters are dance graduates who undertake additional professional development in teaching and communicating with young people in a schools’ context.
